Partnership Arrangement with U.S. VR Production
Korean VFX studio 4th CREATIVE PARTY announced that they executed an MOU with American VR production, ‘Practical Magic’ for global partnership on 8th March. Both companies are planning to expansion to China and Europe and Hollywood VR content production by combining filming solution and CG/VFX technology through the MOU. Industry officials credit that it has great implications in terms of global partnership between Hollywood VR production and Korean representative VFX studio. Also they say it is expected to be a great opportunity to inform Korean CG technology and content production capabilities internationally.
‘Practical Magic’, which produced VR content for ‘Assassin’s Creed’, has become representative of North American VR productions, working with Hollywood productions and Google based on its high resolution 360 VR filming solution.

국내 VFX(시각효과) 전문기업 포스크리에이티브파티는 8일 미국의 VR(가상현실)전문 프로덕션 프랙티컬매직과 글로벌 파트너십을 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결 했다고 밝혔다. 양사는 이번 MOU 체결을 통해 촬영 솔루션과 CG/VFX 제작 기술력을 결합, 헐리우드 VR 콘텐츠 제작은 물론 중국, 유럽 등 전 세계 시장 진출도 계획 중이다. 업계 관계자는 “이번 협약이 할리우드 VR 프로덕션과 한국 대표 VFX 기업의 글로벌 파트너쉽 체결이라는 점에서 시사하는 바가 크다”라며 “한국의 CG 기술력과 콘텐츠 제작 역량이 해외에 더욱 널리 알려지기를 기대한다”라고 말했다.
프랙티컬매직은 헐리우드 영화 ‘어쌔신크리드’의 VR콘텐츠를 제작한 기업이다. 자체 개발한 고해상도 360 VR 촬영 솔루션을 기반으로 구글, 헐리우드 제작사들과 VR 콘텐츠를 제작하고 있는 북미 대표 VR 프로덕션이다.
